Meet Aparna Gupta

Drama educator. Communication coach. The person behind every Dramaplay class โ€” and the reason this studio exists.

Aparna Gupta, founder of Dramaplay
the person behind the programme

Founder. Trainer. Every class, every child.

Aparna Gupta is a drama educator and communication coach with years of experience working with children across every age group, temperament, and learning style โ€” from the boisterous 4-year-old who needs direction, to the withdrawn 9-year-old who needs permission, to the ambitious 12-year-old ready to be stretched.

She personally trains every Dramaplay student. This isn't a franchise with rotating teachers โ€” when your child joins Dramaplay, they learn from the person who built it. Her curriculum is grounded in the Trinity College London Speech and Drama framework, and she currently prepares students for Trinity examinations.

Her teaching style is equal parts structure and spontaneity. She knows when to guide and when to step back and let a child discover something for themselves. What makes her different isn't just her expertise โ€” it's her patience, her warmth, and her unshakeable belief that confidence is not something you're born with. It's something you build.

"I've seen the quietest children find their voice. I've seen the most anxious kids become the ones who volunteer to speak first. That never gets old."

How Aparna teaches

๐Ÿ‘‚

Listen to them, and they listen to you

Her guiding belief: the best way to teach a child to listen is to truly listen to them first. When children feel heard, they open up, engage, and give their full attention in return.

๐ŸŒฑ

Play is the foundation

Every activity is designed to feel like something children want to do. The skills โ€” reasoning, empathy, expression โ€” come because they're having fun, not despite it.

๐ŸŽญ

Expression over perfection

She celebrates the child who tries something brave, even when it doesn't go perfectly. That's where real growth lives โ€” and why children keep coming back.

a note from aparna

To every parent who's wondering if this is right for their child

You already know your child better than any teacher ever will. You've seen the moment they clam up in a crowd. You've also seen the moment โ€” maybe at home, maybe with their best friend โ€” when they're completely, unselfconsciously themselves.

What we do here is make that second version of your child available in more rooms. It doesn't happen overnight. But it happens โ€” reliably, measurably, and in ways that stay with a child for the rest of their life.

If you're curious, even a little, I'd love to hear from you. Tell me about your child. Tell me what you're hoping for. We'll take it from there.

With warmth,
Aparna Gupta ยท Founder, Dramaplay
